Project Description
Architects specified PROSOCO's Sure Klean® 766 Limestone & Masonry Prewash, followed by Sure Klean® Light Duty Restoration Cleaner to clean decades of heavy atmospheric soiling from the sensitive marble exterior of the Cleveland Museum of Art. The 1916 neoclassic museum is built of Georgia white and Cherokee marbles. The renovation, (1998-2002) included disassembling, cleaning, repairing and reassembling the museum's marble terraces. Workers cleaned the terraces' 3,000 marble blocks individually with 766, followed by Sure Klean® Limestone and Masonry Afterwash. The museum has since won several prestigious restoration awards, including the International Masonry Institute's “Golden Trowel Award,” in April 2003.
