Lunt-Fontanne Theater - Dumond Chemicals Inc.

Broadway's historic Lunt-Fontanne Theater was recently restored to its former Beaux-Arts glory. The limestone, brick and cement exterior, laden with 70+ coats of paint, was stripped using the Peel Away Paint Removal System from Dumond Chemicals, Inc. Peel Away paste was applied by hand, trowel and brush and covered with laminated Peel Away paper. After dwelling for 72 hours, the paper was "peeled away," and with it, the bulk of the still-damp paint. Some 3,000 square feet were stripped and re-coated in just five weeks, with 3J's Building Maintenance handling the intricate exterior work.
